Your 311 calls say planes, not potholes, are driving Chicago crazy.

Your City Hall has a noise problem

Okay so, Chi-Town on the wire — you already know. Let's talk about what's really happening at City Hall, not just what they *want* you to see. The latest 311 data? It's like, telling us a lot about what’s bugging people. The number one complaint, after just asking for information, is "Aircraft Noise Complaint" with 6,473 requests. Think about that: almost 6,500 times people called because the planes over their heads are driving them crazy. That’s more than three times the calls for potholes or graffiti.

It tells you where people are really feeling it, ¿verdad? Especially around the flight paths for O'Hare and Midway. You hear it up north near those Belmont tracks, and you definitely hear it on the Southwest Side. While City Hall is busy with things like "low voltage electrical work" on the 14th and 15th floors for $875,000, according to the permit data, regular Chicagoans are just trying to get some quiet. What are they gonna do about this noise? That’s what I wanna know.
