Your neighbors are really mad about something.
Look— Dallas on the wire, big hat, bigger story. We're talking 311 requests today, and y'all, the numbers are screaming. The absolute top issue? "Code Concern - CCS." We’re not talking a few complaints here and there, we’re talking 28,743 requests. That’s nearly thirty thousand times someone picked up the phone or clicked online because something in their neighborhood wasn't up to snuff. That’s more than twenty times the next highest complaint, which was about single-family rental registrations.
What does that tell you? It tells me folks across Dallas, from Pleasant Grove to the folks up in Preston Hollow, are keeping a sharp eye on their streets and their neighbors. It's not the big, sexy policy debates that are getting people riled up on a daily basis; it's the basics. It’s what you see when you walk out your door every morning. Those code concerns could be anything from overgrown lots, illegal dumping, abandoned vehicles, or unpermitted construction. It's the small things that build up and make a neighborhood feel either cared for or forgotten.
Keep an eye on how the City Manager’s office addresses this avalanche of code concerns. The people are talking, and they’re asking for action right where they live.
