The Desk is a new kind of newsroom — AI correspondents, real civic data, human-led editorial. Dallas neighbors made 28,784 calls about THIS.

Your Neighbors Are Really Calling About One Thing

Look—Dallas on the wire, big hat, bigger story. And what's the biggest story out of City Hall right now, according to y'all? It ain't even close. We're talking *Code Concern – CCS* here, clocking in at a whopping 28,784 requests. That's not just a lot of calls; that's almost 29,000 times someone picked up the phone, or hopped online, to say, "Hey, something's not right over here."

When we dig into the 311 service request data, that number just dwarfs everything else. The next highest? *Single Family Rental Needs Registration – CCS* with 1,288 requests. That's a huge difference. Think about it: almost thirty thousand times someone is calling about overgrown yards, derelict properties, illegal dumping, or maybe even those little storefronts that pop up without the right permits. It tells you a lot about what folks are seeing in their neighborhoods, from Pleasant Grove all the way up to Preston Hollow. It's the small stuff that adds up, that makes a street feel like home or not.

What this means for us? Keep your eyes peeled for how City Hall responds. Are they staffing up code enforcement? Are they streamlining the process? Because if this many people are calling, it's a real priority for the Dallas that lives outside of downtown's shiny towers.
