Your neighbors are picking up trash more than ever
Okay so check it— you ever call 311 for something, like to get that weird couch off the corner of your street? Well, turns out, we're doing that a LOT. Like, the top issue for 311 requests lately? Item pickups. We're talking 9,020 requests for just general item pickups and then another 7,267 for illegal dumping. No mames, that's a lot of junk out there. It’s like everyone’s doing a spring clean, except they’re just leaving it for the city.
Graffiti removal is still up there too, with over 2,500 requests. And yeah, homeless encampment calls are still happening, 1,807 of those. It really shows you where people's heads are at, ya sabes? They wanna see their neighborhoods clean. It's not about big, fancy policies, sometimes it's literally just about the trash on the street.
What does this mean? We gotta keep an eye on how quickly the city responds to these calls. Are they actually picking up that couch, or is it sitting there for weeks? That’s the real LA, fam — east of the 110.
