Your City Hall reports are flowing again
Here's the thing about Peterborough, the currents of civic life, much like the Otonabee itself, can sometimes feel a little dammed up, or perhaps, a bit turbulent. This past week, we’ve been navigating a mix of both.
We started the week feeling the approaching chill of budget season, a time when the financial waters can get particularly choppy for city council. I was keeping an eye on development permits, always a sign of the city's growth, or perhaps, its growing pains.
Then, we hit a patch of rapids with an active weather alert for the city. It was a reminder that even in the Electric City, we're deeply connected to the natural rhythms around us, and sometimes those rhythms bring a storm. By week's end, we were still looking ahead to that budget, a significant current indeed.
* Budget season is on the horizon
* Development permits are under review
* An active weather alert moved through the city
For residents here in Peterborough, all of this is about how our collective canoe steers through the coming months.
This is the Electric City — small town, big current. Let's go.
