Your City Hall is too busy to even tell you what's up
Listen, youse know I stay on top of the jawn down at City Hall, right? I'm not even gonna hold you, sometimes it feels like they ain't even tryna tell us what's really happening. I'm talking about the public data, the stuff that's supposed to be transparent so we know what our tax wooder is doing.
### The Mystery of the Missing Data
So, I'm digging through the civic data, looking for the real dirt, the 311 requests, the development permits, all that good stuff. And what do I find? A whole lotta nothing, or nah?
Here's the rundown:
* **311 Service Requests:** Just a bunch of "miscellaneous" entries. Like, seven of 'em. What is "miscellaneous," Philly? Is that a pothole? A broken street light? A cat stuck in a tree on Baltimore Avenue? We need specifics, jawn!
* **Development Activity:** Every single permit entry listed is either "Plumbing" or "PP_PLUMBNG," and then it says "N/A" for any actual details. And one "Residential Building" permit with "N/A" too. So, nobody's building nothing? Or they just ain't telling us about it?
I'm not tryna be dramatic, but how are we supposed to hold these folks accountable if the data they put out is just a bunch of question marks? We deserve to know what's getting fixed in our neighborhoods, what new developments are coming to Fishtown or West Philly. This ain't some secret society, it's our city!
We gotta keep pushing 'em, Philly. Next time, I'm expecting some real numbers, not just a bunch of N/As. That's the jawn, Philly — we don't do fake out here.
