Your councillors just gave this company a big contract. Why?

Your Council Just Voted on Insurance Services, Here's How

Okay but real talk—first thing this morning, we got an active alarm incident, location still pending, fam. Toronto Fire got dispatched at 10:58 AM, so keep your eyes peeled if you're out there.

Now, shifting to City Hall, because you know I'm always watching what our councillors are actually *doing* with our money. Last week, on March 9th, the General Government Committee had a pretty significant vote you should know about. They awarded a Request for Proposal for insurance adjusting services to ClaimsPro LP. This is big, it’s about who handles the city’s insurance claims, you know? The vote was 3-1, and it passed. Councillors Michael Thompson, Stephen Holyday, and Jon Burnside all voted Yes. Councillor Paul Ainslie was the lone No vote, which is interesting, right? And Councillor Lily Cheng? She was absent for that one. This kind of stuff matters, dude, because it's how the city manages risk and our public funds. What does this mean for us? We gotta see how ClaimsPro LP performs and if we're getting the best bang for our buck.

Real talk, this is Toronto — stay up.
