Here's what your city hall did while you weren't looking
Good morning from the island — we're still here, the orcas were spotted at Active Pass, and honestly, life is fine. Let's talk about what's bubbling up from City Hall, shall we?
Well, here's the thing: it appears the universe is aligning for more ice cream and more arcade fun, which, if you ask me, sounds rather pleasant. According to recent business licences issued by the city, we've got HAZELS ICE CREAM LTD setting up shop as a mobile bicycle vendor. Not one, but two licences (numbers 40784 and 40447) were issued for this mobile sweetness. Does this mean more chances to catch a cold treat cycling through James Bay or perhaps down the Dallas Road waterfront? One can only hope.
Then, there's Arcadia, an entertainment amusement centre, now licensed at 707 Johnson Street (Licence #48095). One wonders if this signals a gentle shift back to the kind of simple, coin-operated joys we remember, or something entirely new. Either way, it’s a new spot to wander into on a rainy afternoon.
* HAZELS ICE CREAM LTD: Two mobile bicycle vendor licences issued.
* Arcadia: New amusement centre at 707 Johnson Street.
* Downtown Veterinary Clinic: Now at 736 Caledonia Avenue.
What does all this mean for us? More local flavour, perhaps, and a bit more to do. We'll be watching to see how these new ventures weave themselves into the city's rather unique tapestry.
