Here's what happened to the Anaheim Ducks last night (VGK 5, ANA 1)

Your Anaheim Ducks just had a rough night against Vegas

Ugh, okay, so, if you woke up this morning hoping for some good news, I'm just gonna rip off the band-aid. The Anaheim Ducks were at home last night, like, right here at the Honda Center, and it just wasn't our night. The Vegas Golden Knights really took it to us, winning 5-1. Honestly, it was a pretty tough watch from the start, especially that first period. It felt like we were still stuck on the 5 trying to get to the arena, you know?

Vegas came out super strong, getting three goals in the first period, and like, two of those were from Mark Marner and Shea Theodore. Pavel Dorofeyev sealed it for them with two goals in the third, which felt like a real gut punch. We did get one back, though! Mason Granlund scored on the power play in the second period, assisted by Troy Terry and Leo Carlsson, which, like, totally gave us a little spark, but it just wasn't enough to turn the tide. Our shots on goal were 21 compared to Vegas's 32, which kinda tells you the story right there.

Here's the thing, it's a home loss, and it stings, especially after we just broke a little losing streak. We're still third in the Pacific Division with 92 points, but our last ten games are 2-6-2, which is just, like, not what we want to see. We need to regroup super fast and find that consistent energy. This team has so much potential, and we see flashes of it, but we need to put a full 60 minutes together, especially with the playoff picture getting tighter. The mood around Anaheim this morning is definitely a little quieter, but we're still here, still cheering. We just gotta shake it off and get ready for the next one.
