Your students put hearts on Delaware Avenue. Here's why.

Your students are putting hearts on Delaware Avenue.

So here's the deal, you guys. We all know things can get a little… much, sometimes. The news, the world, everything feels like it's coming at you a million miles an hour. But then you hear about something like this, and oh for sure, it just hits different. The Kenmore Junior/Senior High students, right? From their Big Picture Program — they went out and put positive messages, little decorated hearts and stars, all along Delaware Avenue. I'm not even kidding, it's such a pure Buffalo thing to do.

It’s the little stuff, you know? It’s not a giant parade or a rally at the stadium, but it's that small, everyday act of kindness that makes this city what it is. You're driving down Delaware, maybe you just left Delaware Park after walking your dog, or you're heading toward the shops on Elmwood, and you see one of these. A little star with "You Got This" or a heart saying "Keep Going." That’s the stuff that sticks with you. It’s a reminder that even when it feels like the whole world is a mess, there are good people right here, looking out for each other.

### Why This Matters for Buffalo

* **Community Spirit:** It just reinforces that deep, ingrained sense of community we have. People here show up for each other, whether it's shoveling out a neighbor after a blizzard or leaving little encouraging notes for strangers.

* **Youth Engagement:** It’s awesome to see our younger generation taking initiative and spreading positivity. They're not just waiting for good things to happen, they're making them happen.

* **Simple Kindness:** Sometimes it's the simplest gestures that have the biggest impact. It's a breath of fresh air amidst all the heavy news we get every day.

This is why I love this city, you know? It's not always about the big headlines or the shiny new developments, though those are great too. It’s about these kids, making Delaware Avenue a little brighter, one heart at a time. It’s that constant, low-key hum of people caring. Bills by a billion — and yeah, the city too.

You gotta hear Keith and the crew talk about this kinda stuff on the Morning Wire — they get into it every day, live at mornings.live.
