This Winnipeg game tonight, kid, it feels like the whole city’s got that knot in their stomach you get before a big snowstorm. Walkin’ down Hanover Street this mornin’, grabbin’ a coffee, everyone’s talkin’ about these extra time losses. Four-three-and-three in the last ten, and a lotta those went past regulation. Guys at the fish market down by the Seaport, they’re sayin’ it’s gotta stop. We need to close these games out. It’s not about bein’ checked out, nah, it’s about bein’… cautious. Like, we know what this team can do, we’ve seen the magic, but we’ve also seen ‘em let off the gas a bit lately.
The talk is all about consistency, or the lack of it, especially with the playoffs creepin’ up faster than a T-stop on a Friday night. Nobody’s panickin’ yet, it’s not that kinda vibe.
