They found iron nails in chests in Rome. What?!

You won't BELIEVE what they found in Rome

Okay so, y'all, this Wildcard today just stopped me in my tracks. They're digging around in Rome, right? In this old Roman necropolis, and they find three burials. Sounds normal, for Rome. But get this: these skeletons have *iron nails* hammered into their chests. Not, like, around them. *In* them. The archaeologists think it was some kind of ritual to keep restless spirits from, you know, walkin' around and causin' trouble. Can you even imagine? Talk about tryin' to make sure folks stay put after they're gone.

Here's what people don't get about Jax — we've got history here too, a whole lot of it. We've got those Timucuan shell mounds out near the river, places where folks have been for thousands of years. But can you imagine finding something like *that*? I mean, we've got some old cemeteries here, even some historic ones with all kinds of interesting tales in Riverside and downtown. But nobody's talkin' about keeping folks down with *nails*. We're more worried about the current residents finding a good parking spot at the Beaches Town Center, bless their hearts. I guess the Romans took 'rest in peace' a little too literally, huh?
