You'll never guess what they found in Rome, man
Alright, y'all, lemme tell you what popped up on my feed this morning that just… it just makes you tilt your head a little bit. We're talking about ancient Rome, right? The land of gladiators and emperors and all that. Well, archaeologists dug up this old necropolis, a burial ground, and found three skeletons. And on each one, right there on the chest, they found iron nails. Not like, accidental nails. Like, *placed* nails. The folks doing the digging, they think it was a ritual to keep restless spirits from… well, from resting. To protect the living *and* the dead, they say. Man, if that ain't a wild thought to wake up to.
Look, I'm sitting here sipping my coffee, looking out towards the Cumberland River, and I'm thinking about all the history we got right here in Nashville. You got Fort Negley, the old cemeteries over by Fisk, places where folks have been laid to rest for generations. Can you imagine if we started digging around and found something like *that*? Folks in Nashville, we like our spirits lively, sure, especially on Broadway, but restless spirits coming back to cause trouble? Now that's a whole different kind of honky-tonk, man. We got our superstitions here, don't get me wrong, but usually it involves stepping on a crack or not letting a black cat cross your path, not nailing folks to their coffins! This is a whole 'nother level of 'don't come back now, ya hear?'
That's the real Nashville, y'all — before the neon and after.
Y'all know Keith and the crew are fixing to talk about this kinda wild stuff every morning. Tune in live at mornings.live.
