New Jersey Devils Game Recap: NJD 6, NYR 3

You gotta see this score from last night

Alright, listen up, because if you missed it, you gotta know: The New Jersey Devils went into their house, that arena they call their own, and absolutely lit up the New York Rangers last night, 6-3. You know what that means? We owned that place. We were down early when Gavrikov snuck one past us, but Nico Hischier, on the power play, said "not today, pal," and evened it up. Then Gritsyuk, just before the first period ended, gave us the lead. Yeah, Zibanejad got one back quick in the second, but we didn't blink. That's the Devils I know.

The boys came to play, no doubt about it. Colin Brown got another power play goal in the second, setting the tone. Then in the third, Timo Meier — yeah, *that* Timo Meier — sniped one in. They tried to make it interesting with Sheary, but then Jack Hughes, with that ridiculous speed, buried one to stretch the lead, and then Bratt sealed it. Six goals on 39 shots, versus their 18. That’s domination, plain and simple. We walked into enemy territory and took two points like we were grabbing a caw-fee from the corner deli.

This ain't just a win, this is a statement. We're now 7-3-0 in our last ten, and we're on a winning streak, still pushing for that playoff spot. 72 points, sitting at 7th in the Metro, but more importantly, we just showed the entire league we can beat the best, especially those guys across the river. The vibe in Newark this morning is electric, you can practically smell the celebration coming out of the Ironbound. This team is finding its rhythm, and with the way they’re playing, anything is possible.
