You gotta be kidding me with this. Darnell Mooney and Joshua Ezeudu? That’s what we’re doing? Listen, I appreciate Joe Schoen trying to plug some holes, I really do. Mooney's got speed, sure, but he ain’t exactly Odell, is he? And Ezeudu, bless his heart, he’s been more of a project than a proven commodity. It feels like we’re trying to patch up a leaky rowboat with duct tape when the whole damn thing is taking on water. We finished 4-13 last season, for crying out loud. Are these the moves that get us back to the Meadowlands, or just keep us treading water in the Hudson River?
This ain’t exactly lighting up the chatter at Madd Hatter in Hoboken, I’ll tell ya that much. Nobody's tearing up their Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich over these two. It screams "filling holes" more than "going all-in," which, for a team that desperately needs a shot in the arm, is just… meh. We still need a real pass rusher, someone who can actually get to the quarterback and not just look pretty on the stat sheet. And another receiver, a *true* number one, not just a speedy guy who might drop a pass when it matters most. It’s a New York Giants problem, year after year.
My expectations for next season? Look, I'm always gonna root for the New York Giants. Always. But these moves don't exactly make me feel like we're about to shock the world and storm through the National Football Conference. It feels like we're gonna be fighting for scraps again, hoping for a few lucky breaks. We need more, a lot more, to even sniff the playoffs. Big Blue bleeds blue, and so do I — from the Meadowlands to the grave.
The guys over at mornings.live are gonna have a field day with this, you gotta check it out.
