Your neighbour just hit the LOTTO MAX and good for them
Morning from Central Alberta — five communities, one correspondent, and all the stories the big papers forgot.
Well now, I'll tell you what, there’s a quiet buzz going 'round the feed store this morning that someone right here in Central Alberta just hit pay dirt with a LOTTO MAX ticket. No details on who, where, or how much, of course, because that's how these things go. But it always gets folks talkin' about what they'd do with that kind of scratch. You hear 'em dreamin' about finally gettin' that new combine, fixin' up the old homestead out by Penhold, or maybe even putting a roof on that community hall in Coronation that needs it so bad. It ain't about gettin' rich, not really. It's about havin' the freedom to take care of what matters.
It's a good reminder that even with all the big-city hullabaloo on the news, life keeps on happenin' right here, in the small ways that matter to folks. Someone's day just got a whole lot brighter, and good for them. It gives us all a little somethin' to smile about as we're headin' down Highway 2, past those grain elevators that mark every town like a handshake.
