Our Seattle Seahawks are making some moves, you know. I was over at Cafe Hue this morning, nursing my Vietnamese coffee, and just thinking about these latest signings. Cody White, George Holani, Brandon Pili, Noah Igbinoghene. It's not the seismic shifts some folks on Capitol Hill might have been hoping for, but it tells me a few things. We’re not blowing it all up, no. The Seattle Seahawks, sitting at 14-3, are looking to fine-tune. These are depth pieces, guys who can contribute on special teams, maybe push for a roster spot, and shore up the edges. I like the idea of Holani coming in to add some fresh legs to the backfield mix. Igbinoghene has some upside, too, for our secondary. It’s about building a robust roster, not just a starting eleven.
Now, if you ask around Belltown, nobody's throwing a parade for these names. The energy isn't like when we brought in a big-name free agent, but there's a quiet appreciation for the strategy. It’s about building from within, finding those diamond-in-the-rough talents. What do we still need? Well, I’d still like to see us invest in another top-tier edge rusher. You can never have too many guys who can get after the quarterback in this league. And honestly, another veteran presence on the offensive line wouldn't hurt, just to make sure we're as stout as possible.
These moves, to me, don’t drastically alter my expectations for next season. We’re still the same Seattle Seahawks team that finished with 14 wins. These are complementary pieces, not foundational ones. They’ll help us maintain that dominant trajectory. It’s a smart, measured approach, and that’s what I’ve always appreciated about how this organization operates.
