Your North End had a fire this morning, hey.
Winterpeg. We built a city in the coldest place anyone has any business building a city — and it is genuinely wonderful. Good morning.
We're starting with the North End this morning, because the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a structure fire in North Point Douglas. The incident, recorded as 2026041181, was reported at 4:29 AM today, March 20, 2026. WFPS dispatch records show it was resolved fairly quickly, by 4:37 AM. That whole neighbourhood, part of Mynarski ward, has seen a lot of growth and change, and it’s always a relief when these incidents are handled fast, hey.
In other city news, there are four new liquor license applications posted this week. Places like BarBurrito Fresh Mexican Grill and The Pembina Pint and Restaurant are looking to open their doors. And if you’ve called 311 recently, you’re not alone. The top complaint today, with two calls in the last 24 hours, is "Frozen Catch Basin P2_vof." Makes sense with the weather we've had, hey. It’s always something with the drainage when the thaws start.
